TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (www.incnow.tv) -- Former State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett has resigned from as Florida's Education Commissioner after news broke about a school grade change scandal earlier this week.

Indiana's A-F grading system came into question following reports from the Associated Press, that Bennett oversaw efforts to ensure a top Republican donor's school received an "A" while he was in his position in Indiana.

Current Superintendent of Public Instruction, Glenda Ritz told the Associated Press that the state's Department of Education would examine the A-F grade calculations to make sure that each school had received the grade they earned in 2012.

Bennett lost to Ritz in the 2012 general election, and quickly relocated to Florida, where he was appointed to his position.
